Danish Midcentury Teak Drinks Trolley
Danish Midcentury Teak Drinks Trolley
A beautifully made Danish mid-century teak trolley, dating from the 1950s–60s and rooted firmly in the Scandinavian modernist tradition.
Crafted in warm, well-figured teak, the trolley features two generous tiers framed by softly rounded edges and elegant integrated handles. The proportions are light and balanced, with turned supports and original brass castors that allow it to move smoothly while adding a subtle note of contrast against the wood.
While unmarked, the quality of construction and detailing reflects the same design language seen in the work of leading Danish makers of the period — including figures such as Niels Otto Møller — favouring restraint, functionality, and finely resolved forms over overt decoration.
The trolley is presented in good vintage condition. The teak has been carefully cleaned and refreshed, retaining a rich, even tone with some light age-related wear visible on close inspection, particularly around the edges and handles. These signs of use are consistent with age and add to the piece’s character. The structure is solid, shelves are sound, and the castors roll freely.
An extremely versatile piece, ideal as a drinks trolley, serving cart, or side table, and equally at home in contemporary or period interiors.
