Midcentury writing bureau by Jentique

£225.00

A beautifully proportioned mid-century bureau, strongly attributed to Jentique, dating from the 1960s. Crafted in warm teak, this piece combines elegant lines with excellent functionality, making it ideal as a compact writing desk or home office piece.

The fall-front opens to reveal a well-organised interior with pigeonholes and small drawers, offering practical storage for stationery while maintaining a clean, architectural look when closed. Below, a set of graduated drawers provides generous storage, all fitted with Jentique’s characteristic recessed oval handles.

Raised on tapered legs with brass feet, the bureau has a light, refined stance typical of quality British mid-century design. A versatile piece that works equally well in a living space, bedroom or study.

Condition.

Very good vintage condition overall. The bureau has been carefully cleaned and refreshed, retaining its original character and warm teak tone. There are minor age-related marks and light surface wear throughout, consistent with a piece of this age. It comes with its original key and the lock is in working order.

One of the recessed drawer handles has had a small historical repair - The repair is stable, functional, and does not detract from the use or overall presentation of the piece. The bureau remains structurally sound and fully functional throughout.
